How QueueZero works
Customers order ahead from their phone, you cook ahead, nobody stands in a line. Here is the whole thing, for both sides of the window.
For food trucks
From nothing to taking orders in about ten minutes. You run the whole service from a phone or tablet.
1. Create your truck
Sign up at queuezero.app/signup. Pick your public address (queuezero.app/your-truck) and a password so you can log back in fast on the truck. That is the link customers will scan and open.
2. Build your menu
Type it in, or snap a photo of your existing menu and let the AI draft it for you. Add categories, prices, options (like "make it a combo"), and allergens. Turn items off the moment you sell out; the change is live for customers straight away.
3. Set yourself up
In Settings: add your logo and brand colour, your ABN (and flick on GST registered if you charge GST, so receipts are correct), your trading hours, and how long a typical order takes to cook. The cook time feeds the live wait estimate customers see.
4. Print your QR sign
Open QR sign, print it at 100% on A4, laminate it, and clip it to the truck or an A-frame near the back of the queue. Customers scan it with their phone camera to order without joining the line.
5. Go live for the day
Set your status to Open and drop your pin at today's location. If you need a breather, hit pause; new orders stop until you are ready, and customers are told.
6. Run the service on the kitchen screen
The Orders screen is your kitchen display: a rail of paper-style dockets, oldest first, each with a big pickup number and a timer that turns amber then red as it ages. Tap the big button to move an order along (accept, cooking, ready), and tick off items as you make them. The screen stays awake while it is open.
7. Put up the now-serving board
Stand a spare tablet, laptop, or phone at the window on your now-serving board (the "Open the board" button on the QR sign page). It shows ready pickup numbers big and refreshes itself. No login, so it is safe on a shared screen.
8. After the rush
History has every order with filters and a CSV export for your books, and each order has a printable receipt (a tax invoice when you are GST registered). If a customer reports a problem, it shows up here too.
For customers
No app, no account. If you can scan a QR code, you can order.
1. Scan or tap the link
Point your phone camera at the truck's QR code, or open their queuezero.app link. The menu loads in your browser. There is nothing to download.
2. See the wait before you order
Each truck shows a live estimated wait based on how many orders are ahead of you, so you know what you are in for before you commit.
3. Order in a few taps
Pick your food, add any options, and give your first name and a mobile number so the truck can find you at pickup. No account, no app.
4. Get your pickup number
You get a big pickup number and a private tracking link. Tap Save this link to keep it; it is how you check your order any time, and where your receipt lives.
5. Know the moment it is ready
Keep the page open and it updates live. Want to wander off? Tap Notify me when it is ready for a ping even with the tab closed (on iPhone, add the page to your Home Screen first). Or just watch the truck's now-serving board for your number.
6. Collect and pay at the window
When your number is up, head to the window, say your number, and pay there. Grab a receipt from your order page if you need one.
